2021 Chrysler Pacifica
Minivans are the ultimate family hauler, and have come a long way since they first arrived. The Chrysler Pacifica is one of the top models worth considering with its strong engine and versatile cabin. For 2021, the Pacifica received a makeover with new exterior styling elements, updated tech features, and a new option for all-wheel drive. Chrysler also made many of the previously optional safety systems standard in the 2021 model.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The entry-level Pacifica is the Touring. It comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, power-sliding side doors, LED headlights and taillights, and a power liftgate. It also has heated and power-folding side exterior mirrors. Step up to the Touring L trim and you'll get Chrysler's Stow'n Place roof rack, or check out the Limited for hands-free sliding side doors, a hands-free power liftgate, and a panoramic sunroof. The top-level Pinnacle trim adds lots of extra tech and offers the option for more safety features.
Engine (Power)
Every gas-powered Pacifica has a 3.6-liter V-6 engine that develops 287 horsepower and gets 262 pound-feet of torque. It uses a nine-speed automatic transmission, and you can choose either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive for any of the trims.
Performance
The V-6 is strong enough to provide the Pacifica with plenty of pep for most driving conditions, and this minivan has a suspension that makes the ride smooth and comfortable. It also works to minimize body roll and keep the van firmly connected to the road when taking tight corners. If you add the tow package to any of the trims, it can even pull up to 3,600 pounds.
Interior
There are three rows of seats in the Pacifica with room for up to eight. Cloth upholstery comes standard in the entry-level models, which also have a power-adjustable driver's seat and Stow-n Go seats in the back. Second-row sunshades are another standard feature, along with three-zone automatic climate control. The Touring L adds heated front seats and driver's seat memory settings, and it has leather upholstery and a heated steering wheel. Ventilated seats come in the Limited, along with a power-adjustable front passenger seat and an integrated vacuum.
The technology you get in the Pacifica starts with the new 10.1-inch touch screen, voice recognition, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, and Apple CarPlay, and you also get satellite radio and a USB port. The Pinnacle has the best tech features with the Uconnect Theater Package with two 10-inch touch screens in the back, HDMI and USB video inputs, a 115-volt outlet, wireless headphones, and a Blue-Ray player.
Safety Features
Standard safety features in the Pacifica include a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist. Every Pacifica also comes with rear parking sensors, rear automatic braking, and lane-departure warning. Chrysler offers the Safety Sphere Group for the Touring L and Limited with a self-parking system for parallel and perpendicular parking space, a 360-degree surround-view camera, and front parking sensors. If you have the Pinnacle trim, these systems will come standard.
