The Dodge Challenger stands out among other muscle cars with its iconic look and unique personality. It offers drivers a powerful cruiser with a muscular lineup of engines and excellent handling. For the 2021 model year, the Challenger received some small updates. There's now a set of 20-inch wheels available for the all-wheel drive versions of the SXT and GT, and the R/T Scat Pack now offers SRT branding for its Brembo brakes.

Trim Levels (Exterior)

The Challenger lineup starts with the SXT. It comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, and automated headlights. It also has LED taillights and heated side exterior mirrors. Step up to the GT for 20-inch alloy wheels, a performance suspension, and a hood scoop, or to the R/T for a performance exhaust. The R/T Scat Pack has an aluminum hood, black-finished 20-inch alloy wheels, and a high-performance suspension. Bumping up to the SRT Hellcat gets you red brake calipers, Brembo brakes, and an adaptive suspension, while the Hellcat Redeye has the SRT Power Chiller. There's also a new SRT Super Stock for 2021 with 18-inch alloy wheels that are 11 inches wide.

Engine (Power)

The base engine for the Challenger is a 3.6-liter V-6 that puts out 303 horsepower. The R/T gets a 5.7-liter V-8 with 372 horsepower, and the R/T Scat Pack comes with a 6.4-liter V-8 with 485 horsepower. Bumping up to the Hellcat will get you a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 with 717 horsepower, and the Redeye version has a 6.2-liter V-8 that puts out 797 horsepower. If you want the Super Stock, it upgrades the Redeye's engine to make 807 horsepower.

Performance

The Challenger provides excellent straight-line power, and it stays composed when taking tight corners. Drivers will also appreciate the stability and control they feel behind the wheel when driving on the highway.

Interior

There's room for five in the Challenger, with comfortable seats for everyone. It also has one of the most spacious back seats you can find in this class, and its large trunk has over 16 cubic feet of storage space. Standard features in the Challenger's cabin include a leather-wrapped steering wheel, cloth upholstery, and a power-adjustable driver's seat. You can also get heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and leather upholstery. Tech features start with a 7-inch touch screen, the Uconnect 4 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a six-speaker stereo. The R/T Scat Pack bumps up to an 8.4-inch touch screen, and it adds satellite radio and Uconnect 4C. Dodge offers an upgraded stereo system as an option, with a choice between a nine-speaker Alpine system and an 18-speaker Harman Kardon stereo.

Safety Features

The Challenger comes standard with a rearview camera, stability control, and traction control. The Driver Convenience Group adds a blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert, and the Technology Group comes with automatic high beams and rain-sensing windshield wipers. Models with that automatic transmission and the Technology Group also get forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking.
