2021 Jeep Compass

The entry-level Compass Sport comes with 16-inch steel wheels, heated side mirrors, and roof rails. The Latitude adds 17-inch wheels and comes with cornering fog lights, while the 80th Anniversary Edition adds to the Latitude with 19-inch alloy wheels. Step up to the Limited for 18-inch alloy wheels and chrome exterior trim elements, or choose the Trailhawk for off-road extras. This model comes with an off-road suspension, more ground clearance, skid plates, tow hooks, and all-terrain tires. Some optional upgrades and extra exterior features that Jeep makes available include xenon headlights, a power liftgate, and a sunroof.

Power for the Compass comes from a 2.4-liter four-cylinder gas engine that puts out 180 horsepower. It uses Jeep's six-speed automatic transmission and comes standard with front-wheel drive in all trims except the Trailhawk, which comes standard with a robust all-wheel drive system. The all-wheel drive system is available as an option for the rest of the lineup and uses a nine-speed automatic transmission.

The Compass offers a smooth ride on the road, and passengers will appreciate the comfort. When you take this small Jeep off the road, it can tackle rough terrain with ease. The full-time all-wheel-drive system is capable and off-road worthy, and the Selec-Terrain management system allows the driver to choose from Auto, Sand, Mud, and Snow.

There's room for five in the Compass, and the cargo area behind all the seats provides 27.2 cubic feet of storage space. The Sport has a height-adjustable driver's seat and cloth upholstery, with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and a combination of cloth and vinyl upholstery in the Latitude. The Limited adds leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a power-adjustable driver's seat. It also adds to its list of features with a heated steering wheel. Technology features in the Compass start with a 7-inch touch screen for the infotainment system, a six-speaker stereo, and its infotainment system works with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Latitude adds satellite radio, and if you opt for the 80th Anniversary Edition, it has an 8.4-inch touch screen, a 115-volt power outlet, and navigation. The Limited also adds these extra tech features, and you'll get them in the Trailhawk too. A nine-speaker Alpine stereo system is an available upgrade depending on the trim, and you can get integrated navigation.

Every Compass comes with a rearview camera, anti-lock disc brakes, seven air bags, traction and stability control. If you bump up to the Limited, it now comes standard with added driver safety aids. These include a blind-spot monitoring system and rear cross-traffic alert, an adaptive cruise control system, forward collision warning with automatic braking, and lane-keeping assist.
